The materials here develop skillsets that contribute to literacy targets for my college prep students in English 3B and 4B.
These materials reflect a typical week in my dual credit English 102 course. Students have numerous opportunities to develop fluencies that contribute to critical written literary discourse.
The Shakespeare Festival is a two-week project that my Introduction to Shakespeare students engage with in the final two weeks of the semester. The project provides for personal and group inquiry and exploration. It incorporates a number of activities that employ social constructivism and sociocultural learning theory.
The Introduction to Shakespeare course is geared toward advanced college-level high school seniors and leans toward adult learning theory in its structure and expectations. Most of the activities could be adapted to lower-level students, and I could see this project working with middle school students provided expectations and outcomes are adjusted.
